How to Play rocket-jumper

Rocket-Jumper is a Jump King–style vertical climber: a small jetpack-wearing robot needs to reach a checkered-flag platform above by firing bursts of thrust and catching floating platforms on the way up. The control is a press-and-hold: the direction you're facing the moment you press down locks in as your thrust direction for that burst, and you can't steer mid-air once you've committed — you can only choose when to let go.

A FUEL gauge sits in the top-left corner and caps out at about one second of thrust. Landing on a platform tops the tank back up, so climbing is a rhythm of short, careful bursts followed by a safe landing to refuel rather than one long continuous flight.

The climb runs nine floors, tracked on screen as "FLOOR n/9." The first four floors use ordinary platforms; floors 5 and 6 add crosswinds; floor 7 turns the platforms icy and slippery; floor 8 shrinks the platforms down to tiny footholds; and floor 9 combines wind, ice and tiny platforms into the final climb. The backdrop shifts as you climb too, moving from a sunlit meadow up through clouds toward a starry sky.

Each level opens with a "TAP to START" overlay showing the robot standing on the checkered goal platform, then starts you back at Floor 1 of that level with a full tank. Landing on the goal platform ends the level and shows a "LEVEL n CLEAR!" screen with your finishing TIME in seconds, along with a button to continue into the next level.

Tips & Strategy

Commit to your press before you thrust

Because your thrust direction locks in the instant you press down and can't be adjusted mid-burst, take a moment before pressing to line up where on the screen you want to aim, rather than adjusting on the fly. A rushed press toward the wrong spot sends you off at the wrong angle for the whole burst.

Land before your tank runs dry

Fuel caps out at roughly one second per burst and only refills on landing, so treat every landing as a checkpoint rather than a pit stop to skip. Chaining bursts without a clean landing in between leaves you stranded mid-air with no way to correct your trajectory.

Expect a different hazard on each late floor

Floors 5 and 6 add crosswinds that push your arc off course mid-flight, floor 7's icy platforms are slippery underfoot, and floor 8 shrinks the landing zones down to tiny footholds — with floor 9 stacking all three together. Treat each new floor as a fresh set of rules rather than more of the same climb.

Watch for the bounce off walls and ceilings

Platforms, walls and the underside of ledges all knock the robot back rather than letting it pass through, which can send a burst that was aimed too steeply into an unwanted rebound. Aiming bursts at open air above a platform, rather than grazing its edges, keeps your trajectory predictable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Rocket-Jumper free to play?

Yes. It loads directly in your browser with no download or account required.

How do I control the robot?

Press and hold anywhere on the screen. The direction you're facing at the moment you press locks in as your thrust direction for that burst; release to stop thrusting.

How many floors does it have?

Nine, tracked on screen as "FLOOR n/9." The first four use ordinary platforms, floors 5–6 add crosswinds, floor 7 is icy, floor 8 uses tiny platforms, and floor 9 combines all three.

How does fuel work?

A FUEL gauge in the top-left corner caps at about one second of thrust per burst. Landing on a platform refills it back to full before your next jump.

What happens when I clear a level?

Reaching the checkered-flag goal platform ends the level and shows a "LEVEL n CLEAR!" screen with your finishing time, along with a button to continue to the next level.

Can I change direction mid-air?

No. The thrust direction locks in the instant you press down and holds for the whole burst — you can only choose when to release.
